These photos are some of the most beautiful that I have ever seen.. I never knew that the modern buildings would be abandoned like they where… it is hard to pick a favorite.

    • Mar 28, 2013

So true, they are beautiful and what a shame that they are abandoned.

      • Mar 30, 2013

Maybe it’s a good thing they’re abandoned.. Then no one will go and turn them into tourist attractions, and ruin them.

        • Mar 31, 2013

          very true!

        • Apr 2, 2013

Or are they only beautiful because they are abandon?

          • Apr 6, 2013

Yes … beautiful because Nature is reclaiming them … Keelung was abandoned? When? Why?

            A sobering collection, nicely photographed.

          • Apr 6, 2013

            Exactly!!

      • Apr 11, 2013

i don’t think so because if they weren’t abandoned then they wouldn’t look so amazing

      • Apr 15, 2013

half of these are tourist attractions… some of them are too difficult for the average person to get to.

    • Mar 29, 2013

Number 20 has bean devastated in the 1992-1995 war, and is, unfortunately.

    • Apr 18, 2013

Totally agree. Great photos and very difficult to choose my favorite. Maybe the house in Ireland or one of the mills.

  2. Mar 28, 2013

Wow! Would love to shoot movies in some of these locations. Do we know if any of these are for sale or can be claimed? Great collection.

  14. Mar 28, 2013

It ‘s the first time I see a list of places abandoned in the world. . . is an original idea.

    Greetings

  15. Mar 28, 2013

The pic that spoke to me the most was the cottage in Ireland. It makes me need to know how old is it, and wonder about the skilled humble hands that built it. Wouldn’t they like to know how beautiful it still is today? :D

    • Mar 30, 2013

I got the same feeling when I looked at the beauty in that picture :)

      • Apr 11, 2013

My grandaunt’s cottage has been split like this. It’s near Killeshandra, also in Ireland. I remember visiting her there as a child. Later returning to it, a tree had grown through the main room/kitchen floor and years later burst through the roof. Well, the roof had collapsed prior to that but the end result looked more like a bit of bursting. My dad owns the land but it’s entirely reclaimed by nature and is now protected by the Wildlife Act. I haven’t been out there in a couple of decades now. Must pay a visit.

  16. Mar 28, 2013

this is so beautiful. I’m gonna cry.

  17. Mar 28, 2013

Some really fascinating things here! Would love to visit so many of them! Just to let you know though, Bodiam castle isn’t really abandoned – it’s a tourist attraction!

  18. Mar 28, 2013

These pictures make me feel happy and sad all at the same time. It’s like the desolate, happy loneliness that you feel after a hard day when you just want to be left alone.
